About Me

In 1992 I took a complete change of direction in my career. I knew I was not feeling fulfilled in the type of work I found myself doing, ( Management). I took my time looking around and experiencing a bit more of life and most importantly getting to know myself.

I knew I had always wanted to work with people and began to realise I was very good at connecting with just about anyone. I realised I could do this proffessionally and sought to find a field of work and the training to hone, develop and expand these skills.

I began training in counselling in 1995 and was very fortunate to experience tutoring by some excellent practioners with very high standards. I went on to complete my Diploma in Integrative Counselling in 1999 from the Central School of Counselling Training.

Having commenced working in Private Practice and in the NHS, I became aware of other ways of working in the same field and was particularly interested in Hypnotherapy. This seemed to offer a more dynamic form of therapy, potentially getting to issues and resolving them much quicker.

Becoming interested in the pioneering work of the School of Analytical and Cognitive Hypnotherapy, I signed up and completed my Diploma in Hypnotherapy/Psychotherapy with them and further completing an Advanced Diploma in Analytical Hypnotherapy and Integrative Psychotherapy.

I was also privileged to be offered the chance to teach Diploma courses at University of East Anglia with SACH. During this time I met and was greatly influenced by Gil Boyne, an eminent Hypnotherapist in the USA. This was a great turning point in my education and personal development and I developed a very deep understanding of not only Hypnotherapy/Psychotherapy but of the mind itself.

My passion and purpose in life is to challenge my own mind, my beliefs, my thoughts, my emotions and behaviours. I also feel passionate about passing that knowledge and experience on and helping you to do the same and ultimately feel able to handle anything that happens in life.
It's not possible to know everything, but I know I constantly learn things, particularly from everyone around me whatever is happening, and I remain open to that.

I was certainly challenged in 2002 when I was seriously injured in a road accident.

I sustained severe leg injuries and developed Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and subsequent anxiety problems. My confidence was shattered.

However, because of my previous life experiences including childhood, and my training and knowledge, I faced the challenges presented to me. I gradually conquered the PTSD and this helped me accept and deal with the physical problems.

In October 2006 after having made an empowered choice to do so, I had my left leg amputated. I also elected to have this done without General Anaesthetic. Instead, I had a nerve blocker in the leg.

I trusted myself and knew I could take charge of as much of the whole process as I could, consequently feeling and being in charge of my own recovery and healing process. I trusted in the power and potential of my own mind.

I would like to offer you the opportunity to find out more and develop these sort of skills and more, and take up the challenge to see what your own mind is capable of.
