“Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Discover. DREAM.” Mark Twain

Integrative Counselling

Having trained in different theoretical approaches, including: Transactional Analysis, Gestalt Therapy, Psychodynamic, Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, I bring an approach to counselling that is wholly 'Integrative'. This means that the most suitable and appropriate way of helping someone can be chosen. This is a very efficient, adaptable and effective way of working as it allows for the fact that each person is unique.

Counselling involves a more in depth exploration of issues such as discovering the root cause of a problem, revealing how it affects things today. This helps us to become more aware and understand causes, triggers etc, and our subsequent behaviours and feelings. We can then move on to discovering how we can deal with past issues and deal effectively and successfully with the present. In this way we can become more aware, with a deeper understanding and acceptance of ourselves, and feeling we are able to respond and engage with others and life around us.
