Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
As humans we have the ability to think and we have each developed our own unique ways and patterns of thinking, ways of dealing with the world around us. However, thinking effects how we feel; think negatively and we feel negative; think positively and we feel positive. CBT helps us identify how we've done this and understand that there were good reasons. It provides us with new thought strategies/techniques, whilst challenging old ones. We then feel able to respond to things and feel more empowered. This is even more useful when combined with hypnotic techniques.
Transactional Analysis
Understand how we relate and engage with everyone around us, how this may have caused us problems; e.g. our perception of others, how we feel about ourselves and friends, family, associates, colleagues, etc. Learn how this causes communication and interaction difficulties and how to change this; communicating more skilfully, effectively and responsibly. Imagine feeling confident that you can express yourself well in all relationships and social, public and working environments. Combined with Hypnotherapy this is a very powerful and effective way of dealing with issues at their root, consequently removing unwanted symptoms.
Counselling
Counselling is available if you wish to engage in a more 'talking' therapy. It is often useful to talk things through, unravelling problems, understanding things from a new perspective and just to have someone genuinely listening to you without offering advice or a fix and letting you feel what you feel without judgement.
A large part of my training in Counselling has involved going through my own intensive therapy, after all, how can I help anyone unless I have been through my own 'journey' and resolved my own issues? I have trained and studied Counselling and Psychotherapy extensively, achieving a Masters degree in Counselling/Focusing at University of East Anglia and a BSc (Hons) degree in Integrative Counselling, and a Diploma in Counselling. I've accumulated much experience and knowledge of different theoretical approaches, including: Transactional Analysis, Gestalt Therapy, Existential, Transpersonal, Psychodynamic, Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, I bring an approach to counselling that is wholly 'Integrative'. This means that the most suitable and appropriate way of helping you can be chosen and agreed upon. This is a very efficient, adaptable and effective way of working as it allows for the fact that you are unique.
Counselling involves a more in depth exploration of issues such as discovering the root cause of a problem, revealing how it affects things today. This helps us to become more aware and understand causes, triggers etc, and our subsequent behaviours and feelings. We can then move on to discovering how we can deal with past issues and deal effectively and successfully with the present. In this way we can become more aware, with a deeper understanding and acceptance of ourselves, and feeling we are able to respond and engage with others and life around us.
